Our approach

Deewar respects the intellectual property rights of others. Every wallpaper in our gallery is included because it is released under CC0 or an equivalent public-domain dedication, with the creator, source, and license recorded on its page. If we learn that any content was included in error, we remove or correct it promptly.

Filing a takedown notice

If you are a copyright owner (or authorized to act for one) and believe content on Deewar infringes your copyright, send a notice to:

To be acted on, your notice must contain all of the following:

  1. Identification of the copyrighted work you claim was infringed (a description, and a link to the original where possible).
  2. Identification of the infringing material on Deewar, including the exact page URL(s) where it appears, so we can locate it.
  3. Your contact information — name, address, telephone number, and email address.
  4. A statement that you have a good-faith belief that the use of the material is not authorized by the copyright owner, its agent, or the law.
  5. A statement that the information in the notice is accurate, and under penalty of perjury that you are authorized to act on behalf of the copyright owner.
  6. Your physical or electronic signature.

Incomplete notices may not be processed. We will review valid notices promptly and remove or disable access to material we determine to be infringing.

Counter-notices

If your content was removed because of a notice you believe was mistaken, you may send a counter-notice to the same address containing: identification of the removed material and where it appeared, your contact information, a statement under penalty of perjury that you have a good-faith belief the removal was a mistake, a statement consenting to the jurisdiction of your local courts, and your signature.

Misuse

Knowingly making false claims of infringement (or false counter-claims) can carry legal liability. If you're unsure whether material infringes, consider seeking independent legal advice before filing.

Repeat issues

Deewar's gallery is curated by its operator rather than uploaded by the public, but we treat repeat problems the same way: sources that repeatedly supply mislicensed material are removed from the catalog permanently.
